SPOT - Specialized Professional Orthodontic Training

Specialized Professional Orthodontic Training (SPOT) was created to provide dental professionals with the opportunity to gain specialized orthodontic education, hands-on experience, and real-world clinical confidence in a supportive and professional learning environment.

Founded by Jaqualine L. Shibley, a DANB Certified Orthodontic Assistant with over 18 years of experience in the orthodontic field, SPOT was inspired by the growing need for focused orthodontic training programs for dental assistants seeking to expand their careers beyond general dentistry. Throughout her career, Jaqualine has had the privilege of working alongside orthodontists with diverse clinical backgrounds, techniques, and philosophies, allowing her to develop extensive knowledge and a true passion for orthodontics and patient care.

After relocating to North Carolina, Jaqualine recognized a significant gap in specialized orthodontic education and decided to create a program designed specifically for dental professionals interested in pursuing orthodontics. SPOT combines interactive virtual learning with hands-on clinical experience to help students build confidence, strengthen their skills, and prepare for success in modern orthodontic practices.
